As you become familiar with the dental office, we hope that you take a moment to learn a bit more about the dentists who will be providing you and your family care. This includes Dr. Warnick, who is one of the dentists and owners of the dental office. He can’t wait to make your acquaintance and begin establishing a positive patient-doctor relationship. If you’d like to learn a bit more about his background, education or life outside of the dental office, feel free to continue reading!
Dr. Warnick was raised in the St. Albans and Teays Valley areas. Originally from Scott Depot, Dr. Warnick grew up following his uncles, grandfather, and great grandfather around in the dental office, so he’s always had a pretty close relationship with the dental field. He always loved watching his family help others, and it was from an early age that he knew that he wanted to do the exact same thing. He thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to work with his hands and help people at the same time.
Dr. Warnick originally planned to work in South Carolina to pursue his career and work with Dr. Paul Giddings, his mentor, and his wife, Dr. Melissa Warnick, whom he met in dental school. Together, they built a state-of-the-art dental office that eventually ended up on the cover of a national dental magazine. However, after realizing how much he missed his family and the state of West Virginia, he and his wife decided to move back to the area which he hasn’t regretted doing since.
Dr. Warnick attended West Virginia University for both his undergraduate and dental education. Since then, he’s been continuing his education in dental implant placement and full mouth rehab/reconstruction. His current certifications include advanced training in implant placement and clear braces. He believes that continuing education is a core part of his commitment to his patients. By always learning new treatments and techniques, he’s able to provide his patients with customized and personalized care, therefore enhancing the dental experience. To do this, he attends annual courses at the Midwest Implant Institute in Columbus, OH.
After the birth of their two children, Cooper and Leila, Drs. Steve and Melissa Warnick moved back to the West Virginia area so they could be close to home. They see their children as their highest priority when he’s not caring for patients, and he loves spending quality time with them outside of the dental office. He also enjoys camping, biking, snowboarding, playing guitar and basketball, and building.
